You are responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors and patients in a timely, friendly manner, preparing patients for their visit, and ensuring that all information necessary for the visit and billing process is complete and accurate. We entrust our patients into your hands!Medical Office Receptionist Job Responsibilities and Duties include:Checks in and checks out patients in a timely, friendly mannerComforts patients by answering any questions they may haveDiscusses patient balances and collects Copayment/BalancesMaintains patient accounts by verifying insurance information and coordinating with relevant staff members for payment and referral requirementsKeeps doctors, physician assistants, medical assistants, and any other related staff abreast of scheduling, patient details, and potential service delaysProtects patients' right to confidentiality; mandatory familiarity with HIPAAExhibit strong customer service skills in daily interaction with the public, staff, and physicians in the performance of job dutiesMaintain a professional demeanor at all times, keeping the company's Core Values and Shared Purpose at the forefront of your actionsCollaborating in the process to protect Patient Health InformationProcessing the collection of Copayments/BalancesScheduling with both the patient and provider schedules in mindUnderstanding and Verifying Insurance Eligibility and the requirements of those plansResponsibility for daily collection reconciliationPerforms all other duties as assigned.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferredMust be able to multitask effectively; critical time management skills necessaryUnderstanding of basic healthcare terminologyDemonstrated ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance companies alikeExcellent customer service skillsSalary:Hourly range is $15.00 - $25.00.
