Access Control & CCTV Technician

*Low-Voltage Technician – Access Control, CCTV & Structured Cabling* *Bluegrass Data LLC* is looking for an experienced low-voltage technician to assist with commercial projects throughout Central Kentucky. This position is primarily field installation work involving access control, CCTV, structured cabling, and related low-voltage systems. We are looking for someone who works safely, produces clean installations, communicates well, and can operate without constant supervision. Responsibilities - Install and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, security cable, and access control wiring - Install card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, electric strikes, magnetic locks, power supplies, and control panels - Install and aim IP cameras - Mount racks, cabinets, backboards, patch panels, cameras, and other low-voltage equipment - Read construction drawings, device layouts, and wiring diagrams - Test, label, troubleshoot, and document completed work - Coordinate professionally with general contractors, electricians, customers, and other trades - Maintain a clean and organized work area - Follow jobsite safety requirements. Preferred Experience - Access control installation - CCTV or IP camera installation - Structured cabling and data termination - Basic networking, including IP addressing and PoE - Door hardware and locking systems - Troubleshooting low-voltage wiring and devices - Commercial construction environments Experience with every system or manufacturer is not required. Candidates who are strong in access control or CCTV and willing to learn structured cabling are encouraged to apply. Requirements - Reliable transportation - Valid driver’s license - Basic hand tools - Ability to use ladders and lifts - Ability to lift and carry cable, ladders, and equipment - Dependable attendance and communication - Ability to pass customer-required background checks when applicable Compensation $20–$40 per hour based on experience, tools, transportation, certifications, and ability to work independently.
