We focus on recruiting talented, self-motivated employees that strive to find a way to get things done.Position OverviewAltamira is seeking a Python Service Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that support data processing, search, and analytics capabilities within secure, mission-critical environments.This role focuses on building reliable Python-based services and integrating with Elasticsearch to enable high-performance data indexing, retrieval, and analysis.The ideal candidate brings strong Python development experience and practical knowledge of search technologies in highly regulated settings.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and RustBuild and optimize data ingestion, processing, and search workflowsDevelop and maintain integrations with Elasticsearch clustersImplement RESTful APIs and service interfacesSupport data indexing, querying, and analytics pipelinesOptimize service performance, reliability, and scalabilityCollaborate with platform, data, and infrastructure teamsImplement logging, monitoring, and error-handling best practicesSupport CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworksParticipate in system accreditation, compliance, and audit activitiesDocument service architectures and operational proceduresRequired QualificationsTS/SCIBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Entry level to 10+ years of experience in software development rolesStrong proficiency in PythonHands-on experience working with ElasticsearchExperience building and consuming RESTful APIsFamiliarity with data modeling and indexing strategiesExperience using Git-based version control systemsAbility to operate in secure, compliance-driven environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with distributed systems and microservices architecturesFamiliarity with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes)Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programsExperience with message queues or streaming platformsFamiliarity with cloud-based or hybrid deploymentsExperience with performance tuning and search optimizationExperience with data pipelines and ETL processes
