This role offers flexible full-time and part-time day and night shifts, perfect for those seeking seasonal employment in the healthcare field.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver patient care under physician guidance, ensuring safety and comfort.Mentor and support new staff and nursing students to foster professional growth.Perform nursing duties within the scope defined by licensing boards and facility policies.Assess patient needs accurately and maintain comprehensive care plans.Encourage patient independence by involving patients and families in care discussions.Administer medications timely and evaluate their effects carefully.Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of care, including disease processes and symptom management.Document patient care accurately and promptly according to policy.Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.Education and ExperienceAssociate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact state.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or by orientation end.Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and prior experience in a similar clinical setting.CertificationsMandatory: BLS/CPR.May require ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN certifications depending on department policy.Skills and AbilitiesStrong nursing fundamentals and clinical skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in basic computer and keyboarding tasks.Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Physical RequirementsAbility to perform heavy work occasionally exerting up to 100 lbs and frequently up to 20 lbs.Standing or walking for 51-75% of the workday.This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Central Plains area of the United States.
