Travel PACU Nurse (RN) - Kernersville, NC

Step into a vital role caring for pediatric patients in a dynamic PACU setting within a busy academic medical center. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced travel nurses ready to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The unit features 20 bays and serves an average daily census of 30-40, with the majority of patients ranging from newborn through 17 years old, primarily post-surgical.Schedule/Hours:Full-time contract assignmentMust be open to varied shifts as required by patient censusQualifications & Experience:Current RN license with at least 1 year of pediatric critical care experience (2 years preferred)Previous travel assignment required (not accepting first-time travelers)Certifications: BLS and PALS requiredExperience with post-op pediatric care, telemetry monitoring, and handling common ICU drips such as heparin, insulin, and occasional cardiac gttsComfort navigating limited use of BiPAP support in a post-op settingFamiliarity with Epic (EMR), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitoring systemsStrong sense of teamwork and resourcefulness, comfortable working in an open-bay, high-acuity environmentPrimary Responsibilities:Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in the PACU for pediatric patients, with occasional adult cases if neededMonitor and manage post-surgical patients, including telemetry and medication infusionsCollaborate closely with support staff: transporters, HUC/receptionist, charge nurse, and PACU educatorCommunicate effectively within an "all hands on deck" team dynamicComplete thorough documentation and stay vigilant in a busy academic and trauma-designated hospitalWhat You'll Enjoy:Scrubs provided for your convenienceFree onsite parkingAccess to continuous support: 24/7 anesthesia team, dedicated charge nurse, comprehensive orientation
