Associate General Counsel - Consumer Products Leader

A privately held company in the consumer products/health space is looking to add an Associate General Counsel to support a broad range of legal matters across the business. This role sits on a lean legal team and works directly with senior leadership, offering a high level of visibility and day-to-day involvement in business operations. The position is best suited for someone who prefers a hands-on, fast-moving environment and is comfortable taking ownership of their work. ResponsibilitiesThis role is heavily focused on commercial contracts - drafting, negotiating, and turning agreements efficiently in support of the business. You'll be working closely with internal teams across functions and expected to provide clear, practical guidance in real time. In addition to contracts, you'll have exposure to a range of other areas, including:Supporting marketing and product teams on brand, advertising, and IP-related mattersAdvising on general business and regulatory questions as they ariseAssisting with litigation and working with outside counsel when needed RequirementsAt least 6 years of experience as a practicing attorneyStrong contract drafting and negotiation experience Background in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage a steady flow of workComfortable working directly with business stakeholders and operating with limited oversightExperience in consumer products, manufacturing, or regulated industries is helpful but not required Additional contextThis is a fully on-site role in the greater Charlotte area (relocation support available)The team is small, so this person will play a meaningful role in day-to-day legal operationsThere is a clear opportunity for long-term growth and progression into a senior leadership role
