Technical Project Manager Data and Analytics
Job: Principal Project ManagerLocation: Richmond, VirginiaEmployment Type: Full-TimeLevel: Senior / Principal Level Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to lead large-scale data, analytics, and cloud transformation initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, analytics, and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of strategic technology programs.The ideal candidate will have a strong technical project management background with hands-on experience leading enterprise data platform and analytics initiatives. Candidates with stable full-time consulting and end-client experience are strongly preferred over career contractors. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise data, analytics, and AI-driven initiatives Coordinate project execution across data engineers, architects, analysts, and third-party vendors Build and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, budgets, and dependencies Provide clear communication and status updates to executive leadership and business stakeholders Identify, track, and proactively mitigate project risks and issues Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, governance, compliance, and security standards Support Agile, Scrum, and hybrid delivery methodologies including SAFe Drive process improvement and identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field 8–12+ years of IT Project Management experience Strong experience managing enterprise data, analytics, cloud modernization, or digital transformation programs Experience working with cross-functional technical teams in large enterprise environments Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and organizational skills Full-time employment background in consulting and/or enterprise environments preferred Preferred Skills & Technologies Enterprise cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure Data engineering and analytics ecosystems including Databricks Agile and project management tools such as Azure DevOps and ServiceNow BI and reporting platforms including Power BI and Tableau PMP, SAFe, Scrum, or Agile certifications are highly preferred Additional Information Candidates local to Richmond, Virginia are preferred Candidates open to relocation or regular onsite presence will also be considered This role requires a strong technical delivery mindset with experience supporting enterprise-scale data initiatives If this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
