Job Description:
General Description
The OTR Truck Driver will operate a vehicle to transport materials to and from the specified destinations in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner. This position is expected to follow established company policies and procedures, follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines, properly use an Electronic Logging Device (ELD), inspect trucks and trailers, properly secure load(s), complete load paperwork, and complete monthly safety training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Transports materials to and from specified destinations in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.
Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections of each vehicle operated as outlined by the FMCSA guidelines.
Operates a semi-truck and trailer according to FMCSA regulations in a safe and efficient manner. Required to hook and unhook trailers and secure load(s) properly with load bars, ratchet straps, or any other means necessary.
Maintains an accurate ELD to comply with the Hours of Service Rule according to FMCSA.
Completes and submits in a timely manner all mandatory paperwork which includes, but is not limited to, driver’s vehicle inspection reports, time cards, mileage sheets, and receipts for reimbursement.
Completes required monthly online safety training to ensure knowledge of safety rules and the proper operation of all equipment required to perform the job.
Transports United States Postal Service mail on an as needed basis. Wears or displays a Postal Badge for identification for entry into a mail facility.
Job Requirements:
Based in Hermann, MO
21 years of age
6 months recent verifiable experience in relative equipment
(If less than 6 months experience, additional training and education will be required)
NO more than 2 MOVING VIOLATIONS in the PAST 12 MONTHS
NO more than 4 MOVING VIOLATIONS in the PAST 36 MONTHS
NO careless imprudent driving in the past 36 months (C&I)
NO excessive speeding involving any single offense for any speed of 15mph or more above the posted speed limit in the past 12 months
NO improper lane change, following too close in the past 18 months
NO hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, or failure to report an accident.
ALL DOT Recordable Accidents will be reviewed prior to qualifying (tow away, injury, fatality)
NO DUI/DWI in the past 5 years
NO previous positive test on a pre-employment/post-accident/random drug or alcohol screen in past 5 years
Must pass a road test or have equivalent of a prior skills test performed (CDL)
Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Must have/pass pre-employment DOT physical.
Must pass FBI background check, if applicable.
