Franchise Business Consultant
This position is based out of Minneapolis, MN
Manage a multi-store market of franchise stores and be responsible for the relationship with the franchisee and for influencing their business success through coaching, sharing best practices, and representing corporate. Provide leadership, coaching, advice, and assistance to franchisees to impact and improve sales, profits, and operating standards and ultimately work with franchise owners to drive execution. This position will be responsible for a large territory of stores and locations.
Essential Responsibilities
Store Operations
Instill excellence in retail store teams by providing direction regarding inventory, return processes, ordering procedures, safety concerns, etc.
Conduct focused store visits and provide extensive documentation of findings. Follow through on all action items to ensure full execution.
Provide training and support to Franchise Owners, Store Management, and Store Associates when new initiatives and/or operational tools are rolled out.
Influence compliance with all safety practices and regulations (e.g., OSHA, shipping, etc.) and that all company policies and best practices are adhered to. Confer with Franchise Owners/Store Managers to develop remedial action plans.
Seek opportunities for community involvement.
Business Planning & Results
Review Profit and Loss statements with Franchise Owners. Create action plans to maximize profitability, productivity, and business growth.
Execute sales processes and provide leadership and insight to meet or exceed budgets.
Review scorecard results: KPIs, store appearance, displays, merchandising, promotions, etc. Track results and evaluate performance compared to plans and benchmarks.
Leadership
Coach and share best practices to develop high-performing teams that deliver industry-leading customer service and franchisee performance.
Identify the potential in others, and provide helpful feedback for development. At each store visit, identify leadership and skills gaps and create plans on how to improve.
Recruit, select, and develop Store Managers; develop bench strength throughout the territory.
Franchise Relations
Provide operational resources, best practices, and assistance to ensure franchisees establish business plans to include specific objectives, goals, and strategies appropriate to their size and consistent with strategic direction and objectives.
With franchisees, establish systems and schedules to monitor progress and goal achievement status. Conduct periodic reviews, telephonically or in person, with the owner/operator to review the business and action plans. Update plans and progress as needed.
Ensure that franchisees are consistently meeting standards for performance through delivery of approved products, and compliance with programs, procedures, policies, trademark protection, etc.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or retail management preferred. Will consider a combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 5 years store retail management experience, as well as 2 years experience in previous multi-location management, preferred.
Strong knowledge of merchandising as well as inventory and cash controls.
Knowledge of franchising is desirable.
Must complete Batteries Plus mini-degrees and certifications within 60 days of hire.
Must possess and use strong leadership skills; track record for hiring, developing, and promoting associates and managers desirable.
Knowledge of financial reports; ability to analyze statistical information, communicate results in verbal and written formats, and create action plans to drive results.
Extensive experience in a selling environment. Ability to improve sales representative's performance by conducting training/orientation to sales processes.
Working understanding of Google Suite. Strong understanding of POS systems.
Hours of work will vary based on the needs of the region.
Ability to travel 75-90% with overnight stays required.
Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to rent a car and/or personal transportation
