Cloud Services Database Specialist

Overview As a Database Specialist in our Cloud Services team, you will support global operations across multiple customer environments, focusing on relational and NoSQL databases in cloud and containerized contexts. You will act as an escalation SME for database issues, collaborate with R&D/DevOps for performance and security considerations, and contribute to DR and backup strategies. You’ll work closely with Cloud Operations to ensure reliable, secure database services underpinning our software suite. This role offers hands-on impact in a fast-paced, growth-focused cloud environment. ResponsibilitiesMonitor databases across environments using DataDogProvide escalation support to Cloud Operations for database issuesInvestigate database problems and coordinate with internal teams to resolveAssist in implementing backup and disaster recovery for multiple database platformsSupport DR operations for customer databasesEnsure database security aligned with Centric's implementationsContribute to cloud services projects ensuring performance and security Key requirementsMicrosoft Certified: Database Administrator AssociateCloud provider certification (AWS Certified Database – Specialty or Azure Database Administrator Associate or GCP Cloud Database Engineer)Experience 10+ years as Database Administrator/Specialist with Cloud Managed instancesHands-on monitoring with DataDogTroubleshooting performance in relational and non-relational databasesUnderstanding how databases interact with applicationsBackup management and disaster recovery experienceKnowledge of data security frameworks (NIST, ISO27001)Excellent communication and collaborationAbility to work independently and in fast-paced teamsProblem-solving mindsetMicrosoft SQL ServerAzure SQL ServerPostgreSQL
