Mechanical Engineer – Powertrain (EV & ICE Vehicles)Location: [Insert Location]Job Type: Full-TimeAbout the OpportunityOur client, a leading manufacturer of electric and gas-powered vehicles, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a range of growth initiatives across both electric (EV) and internal combustion (ICE) platforms.This is a hands-on role focused on vehicle powertrain systems, offering the opportunity to work on critical components such as motors, engines, transmissions, and related subsystems.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of vehicle mechanical architecture (e.g., motors, engines, CVTs, transaxles)Own the development of mechanical specifications, validation plans, and component requirementsLead and contribute to engineering processes including DFMEA, DVP&R, risk analysis, and engineering change managementCollaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to support product development and implementationDrive projects forward by identifying risks, removing roadblocks, and ensuring on-time executionSupport testing, validation, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure reliability and performance of designsAct as a key engineering contact for troubleshooting and resolving product issues, including customer-facing concernsMentor junior engineers, designers, and techniciansAdditional ResponsibilitiesContribute to technology roadmaps and long-term product strategyEnsure alignment with regulatory and industry standardsLead or support cross-functional project teams to meet program milestonesApply structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 9-step problem solving)QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field requiredExperience:7+ years of experience in mechanical or automotive engineering preferredExperience with powertrain systems (electric or ICE) is a strong plusKey Skills & CompetenciesStrong mechanical design, analysis, and problem-solving skillsExperience with design validation, testing, and reliability engineeringAbility to manage projects and work effectively across cross-functional teamsProficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project)Strong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practicesProven ability to identify risks and implement mitigation strategiesBalances technical decisions with business impact and practical considerationsWhy JoinWork on cutting-edge electric and gas-powered vehicle technologiesOpportunity to own critical systems and influence product developmentCollaborative, fast-paced engineering environmentStrong visibility and impact across cross-functional teamsIf you're interested in working on innovative vehicle systems and taking ownership of meaningful engineering work, we encourage you to apply.
