Arthrex is actively searching for CNC Machine Operators to support our Pendleton, SC manufacturing facility on Weekend Shift (Friday through Sunday, 6 am to 6 pm). The minimum requirement for CNC Operators is a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with at least 6 months of applicable experience. Additional years of experience and technical expertise are required for positions beyond an Operator I. Successful candidates will be assigned to an area based off skill set and availability of positions.Main ObjectiveTo produce superior products following Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. Troubleshoot and repair equipment when machine is not working properly.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAll levels:With little to no supervision follow written process and operate a variety of CNC machines and special processesReceives work order and verifies that the components are correctReceives material and loads on bar feederPerforms and records line clearanceVerifies the machine is running the correct programDeburr parts as requiredMeasure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications using precision measuring instrumentsInteract in a Manufacturing environment with a variety of personnel and shift changeover on a daily basisConfirms that inspection process is kept at AQLS C=0. Example: check parts every 30 minutesMaintains good quality and production outputSort/rework parts as requiredAssists out on other operations as requiredData entry in SAP systemShows exceptional teamwork and interact in a Manufacturing environment with a variety of personnel and shift change over on a daily basisMaintain their work area in a clean orderly condition and follows safety proceduresReport any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediatelyPerforms first cut-offReturns all axis to the home positionStops machine to change settings, replace tools and perform tool offsetsRecommends process improvements with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problemsCNC MO II:All duties listed above plus:Adjusts bar feeder for proper size of material and performs a dry run without material; verifies material against work order for correct lot numberPerforms first PC inspection when set-up is completedAdjusts tools to meet blueprint specifications.Downloads programs to the machine, dry run machine with no material and all tools in placeMonitors screen pages and machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media; verifies the correct program in the machine is runningSets up multi axis lathes and milling machining centers; operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control dataDemonstrates ability to streamline processes to increase productivity and qualityInstalls and adjusts collects with proper pressureCleans and assembles all collect assemblies, removes or replaces fixture, collects and tools. Inspects old collects and guide brushesVerifies correct tools against tool sheet and program; sets up any type of tool in the pre-setter and/or machineNotifies programmers of issues and updates required for improvementsSupport machine operators as assigned by Crew Coordinators and/or SupervisorCNC MO III:All duties listed above plus:Production and pilot production jobs are set up consistently, timely and accuratelyAbility to identify root cause of problems related to machine settings, tooling, fixturing and collets, and notifies to leadership and correct when authorizedAbility to drive others to exceed goalsAbility to identify programming, tool data sheets (TDS) and/or process data sheets (PDS) issues/discrepancies and notify EngineeringAssists crew coordinators and mentor lower level operators using effective training and troubleshooting methodologyEducation And ExperienceCNC MO I High School Diploma or equivalent AND 6 months of direct CNC experienceCNC MO II High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2 years of direct CNC machine experienceCNC MO III High School Diploma or equivalent AND 4 years of direct CNC machine experienceKnowledge And Skill RequirementsAll Levels:A desire to improve in all areas, and work as part of a team committed to safety, quality, and efficiency.Attention to detail.Successful completion of assigned curriculum within 180 days of hire/transfer which includes completing the Fundamentals of Manufacturing.Basic computer literacy, basic math skills, a desire to improve in all areas, and work as part of a team committed to safety, quality, and efficiency.CNC MO II:CNC machines set up experience is preferred, use different types of measuring tools and perform all aspects of line clearance.CNC MO III:CNC machines set up experience is required, use different types of measuring tools and perform all aspects of line clearance.Advanced computer literacy.Machine, Tools, And/or Equipment SkillsMulti axis Swiss lathesLathesMilling machining centersGrindersEDMPhysical DemandsExerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
