Cook/Chill Tech - 3rd Shift

Position Description:Perform duties to ensure proper cook and chill methods are conducted in accordance with product specification and USDA regulations.Primary Responsibilities:Prepare cook or chill tanks by filling and setting temperaturesPrepare dollies for cook processMonitor tank water levels, temperatures, and equipment performance throughout the cook/chill processes, making adjustments as neededRecord product and cook information on appropriate forms or enter into computer systemSelect appropriate recipe programs in computer systemPull racks of product and move to next phase of processConduct hand probe temperature readings on cooked productMaintain safe and clean work environment by complying with employee and food safety procedures, rules, and regulationsOperate jeep/walker for the movement of productComplies with and adheres to all employee safety and food safety programsPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory/Management Responsibilities:Not applicablePosition Requirements:Able to speak, read, and write English, bilingual Spanish preferredHigh school graduate or equivalentBasic computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office programsProficient with basic math skillsWilling and able to work overtime and weekendsOne to three years related experience preferredKnowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferredPhysical Requirements:Able to lift more than 50 pounds dailyAble to push/pull between 1000-1500 lbs with assistance dailyAble to tolerate extreme temperatures dailyAble to climb vertical ladders 3-4 feet off ground frequently throughout the dayWalking or standing 100% of dayBending/stooping dailyTraining Period:Minimum 90 days meeting all above requirements; up to one yearThis is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period.
