Substitute School Nurse - Summer Position (2026)
General Description
The summer school nurse oversees the health and wellness of students enrolled as well as the staff members in each program offered by Malden Public Schools. This is a seasonal position while the programs run, dates and hours vary depending on the program.
Responsibilities
Provide routine daily care and administration of OTC and prescribed medications.
Provide emergency care to student and staff when needed
Maintaining daily medical log records and reporting any student incidents to the program coordinators
Performing other job-related duties
Requirements
Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Familiar with life threatening allergy protocols
Committed to working in and fostering an inclusive community
Respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies
Work collaboratively and independently
Maintain an enthusiastic and positive presence to all students, staff and families
Excellent organizational, problem solving and risk management skills
Salary: $40 per hour
