HVAC Service Team Lead

DIRECT HIRE: The HVAC Service Team Lead oversees commercial HVAC service projects from initial service request through completion. This role leads field technicians, coordinates turnkey repair and replacement projects, ensures high-quality workmanship, and maintains compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. The Team Lead serves as the primary point of contact for technicians, project managers, and customers while ensuring HVAC systems operate reliably and efficiently.Working Location: Local travel for Statesville, NC./Charlotte, NC. and surrounding areaPay Range: $90K - $1100K (depending on experience)Base hours/Schedule: M - F, 7am - 3:30pm, +OTBenefits: Benefits: Vision & Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, 401(k) Retirement Plan, PTOResponsibilities: Lead and supervise HVAC service technicians performing installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systemsManage turnkey HVAC service projects from diagnosis and proposal through completion and system commissioningCoordinate service calls, equipment replacements, and repair projects to ensure minimal disruption to customer operationsDiagnose complex HVAC system issues including rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, split systems, heat pumps, air handlers, and building control systemsDirect installation and replacement of major HVAC components including compressors, motors, coils, ductwork, and control systemsEnsure all HVAC service and installation work complies with OSHA regulations and applicable building codesMonitor job progress, technician productivity, and service quality to ensure projects meet timelines and performance expectationsCoordinate procurement of equipment, materials, and replacement components necessary for turnkey service projectsCommunicate directly with customers regarding system performance, repair recommendations, project timelines, and service outcomesReview service documentation, job reports, and maintenance records to ensure accurate reporting and billingProvide technical guidance and mentoring to technicians, supporting skill development and troubleshooting assistancePerform advanced diagnostics, system testing, and commissioning to verify proper HVAC system operation after repairs or replacementsSupport preventative maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce long-term service costsMaintain company service vehicles, tools, and equipment used for HVAC service operationsQualifications: Minimum 7 years of commercial HVAC service experience3+ years of leadership of supervisory experience in HVAC service or field operationsStrong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, air handlers, refrigeration systems, and building automation controlsEPA Section 608 Certification requiredAbility to diagnose complex HVAC mechanical and electrical issuesExperience managing service technicians and coordinating field service operationsValid driver's license and ability to travel between commercial service locationsTechnical training, trade school certification, or HVAC license preferredSkills: HVAC system diagnostics and troubleshootingCommercial HVAC installation and repair expertiseTeam leadership and technician supervisionProject coordination and turnkey service managementCustomer service and client communicationPreventative maintenance planningElectrical and mechanical system troubleshootingSafety management and regulatory complianceTime management and schedulingDocumentation and service reportingOnce you apply, please text "TURN" to 904-712-6140 for a faster reply.INDH Powered by JazzHR
