Network Engineering Analyst
THIS IS AN EVERGREEN REQUISITIONOrbis is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineering Analyst with a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to evaluate complex computer networks. The ideal candidate has prior experience as a Network Engineer designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting network infrastructure. This role is critical to evaluating computer networks for stability, integrity, efficiency, and vulnerabilities.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEvaluate the design and function of networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, SANs, etc.)Dig through dense network traffic data to discern patterns and topologyUse Wireshark and other PCAP tools to evaluate the networkRead and digest to non-technical stakeholders the disposition of network configuration files, NMS tools, and network activity.Document in network diagrams, slide decks, and wikis network architecture and processes for internal useLean new networking protocols quickly and integrate that knowledge into ongoing analysis.Brief findings to key client stakeholdersEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and at least 3 years of relevant experienceRequired Skills & AbilitiesActive TS/SCI clearance with PolygraphStrong knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, MPLS, GPON, IPsec, and SDH.Experience with network hardware such as Cisco, Juniper, or similar platformsProficiency in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, PRTG)Desired Skills & AbilitiesExperience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)Knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network security best practicesScripting and automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell)Familiarity with VoIP systems and QoS configurationIndustry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly preferredExperience with international business best practices related to computer network implementationPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings.Ability to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area regionWe are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
