For more information, please visit fluenceenergy.com.Job DescriptionRole Overview The Energy Markets function at Fluence Digital plays a critical role in establishing and enabling the organization to achieve its annual objectives. This position will work cross functionally supporting the Commercial, Product and Data Science teams in ensuring peak performance of products within the Fluence digital portfolio. The role will report to the Principal Director, Energy Markets.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret rules governing how flexible energy assets such as energy storage and renewable resources participate in wholesale electricity markets and translate such rules into product requirementsAct as subject matter expert on electricity market operations with thorough understanding of business practice manuals, FERC market tariffs, and market systemsWork with commercial and product teams, as well as policy functions across Fluence to analyze market and regulatory issues related to digital productsBenchmarking potential design changes using Fluence Digital’s in house tools to estimate potential impacts on asset revenueBenchmarking performance of Fluence Digital’s market bidding platform and collaborating with Product and Data Science to enhance performanceProvide input and subject matter expertise to the Product team on issue/enhancement prioritization and release schedulingCollaborate with Commercial Team and other stakeholders within Fluence to develop/further Fluence’s new and unique commercial offeringsEvaluate potential storage financing and performance structures (PPA, Toll, Revenue Share, Revenue Floor)Required Qualification And Experience7+ years experience working at or closely with a US ISO/RTO or significant experience in project siting/Interconnection Analysis/Deal FinancingExperience working with multiple ISO/RTOs or international power marketsIntimate understanding of electricity market design, including concepts such as bidding, frequency regulation, cascaded markets, and participation of use-limited resourcesSkilled communicator, able to distill complex and nuanced information into clear summaries for collaborators (e.g., influencing product requirements)Experience with databases, data manipulation and analytics (Excel, Python, Tableau, Looker, Snowflake)Engineering, science, math, economics; advanced degree (PhD or MS) preferredExperience with ISO/RTO market systems (e.g. bid submission, award retrieving, outage management systems etc.)Origination, Sales and/or Business Development experience are a plusOur CultureAt Fluence, our culture is the foundation that drives our ambitious growth strategy and fuels our mission to transform the future of energy.
