Welder IA welder I fabricates and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Reviews blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Cleans and inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:MIG welding with the ability to weld components as specifiedProduce various items and equipment according to H&S approved processes using fabricating and welding techniques and equipmentPrepares parts and part surfaces, assembles, tacks, and welds parts together per printMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety proceduresNotifies Lead when faulty equipment or defective materials are discoveredAdheres to company quality protocols and processesPerform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbookPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementPerform duties with safety first quality mind setSkills and Abilities:Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the areaPossess a moderate understanding of the general aspects of the jobHas a basic understanding of blueprints and can identify how the parts go togetherAbility to read tape measuresVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmThe ability to weld tier one parts to standard alone after getting instruction from senior personalQualifications:3+ years of general work experienceMust be able to demonstrate welding ability by passing an in-house weld testPhysical Requirements:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
