With a commitment to excellence, the company plays a pivotal role in transforming industries and creating sustainable solutions.Role DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the development and execution of a major hydrogen plant project based in Houston, Texas, with an estimated capital investment of $5–8 billion over a 2–3 year execution timeline. This individual will serve as the senior leader of the owner’s project organization and will be responsible for overall project performance across scope, cost, schedule, safety, quality, risk, contractor management, and transition to commissioning/startup. The ideal candidate brings deep experience leading large industrial capital projects in sectors such as hydrogen, ammonia, refining, petrochemicals, LNG, industrial gases, gas processing, or power.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all phases of project delivery from development / FEED through EPC execution, commissioning, and startupEstablish and lead the owner’s project organization, governance structure, and reporting cadenceOwn project performance across scope, budget, schedule, safety, quality, and riskDirect core project functions including engineering, procurement, project controls, contracts/commercial, construction, HSE, permitting, and commissioningManage relationships with EPC/EPCM contractors, licensors, OEMs, major suppliers, and external stakeholdersOversee the integrated project execution plan and challenge contractor assumptions, forecasts, and recovery plans as neededLead executive communications with ownership, investors, lenders, and senior internal stakeholdersDrive disciplined change management, contingency planning, and commercial decision-makingEnsure strong alignment between design, construction, startup, and long-term operational readinessRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field15+ years of experience in major capital project deliveryDemonstrated leadership of large industrial or energy infrastructure projects, ideally in the multi-billion-dollar rangeStrong experience managing owner’s teams and EPC/EPCM contractorsDeep understanding of project execution, project controls, contracting, construction, and commissioningExperience in hydrogen, ammonia, refining, petrochemicals, LNG, industrial gases, gas processing, or powerStrong leadership, executive communication, and stakeholder management capabilitiesPreferred QualificationsDirect hydrogen, ammonia, or industrial gas project experienceExperience with modular execution, major equipment strategy, and global supply chainsPrior commissioning/startup and plant handover experienceFamiliarity with permitting and regulatory requirements for major Gulf Coast industrial facilitiesWhat Success Looks LikeThe project is executed safely and with strong cost and schedule disciplineContractor performance is transparent, actively managed, and aligned to project objectivesKey risks are identified early and mitigated decisivelyLeadership receives clear, actionable, accurate project reportingThe plant is positioned for successful commissioning and operational handoverCompensationBase salary: $275,000 - $365,000Target annual bonus: 25% - 35%This will be a 1099 Based Wage with No BenefitsOther RolesWe are also looking to hire a Engineering Manager and a Procurement and Supply Chain Director for this project.
