About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use):13S&P Global has recently announced the intent to separate our Mobility Segment into a standalone public company.For more information, visit www.spglobal.com/mobilityThe Team:We are seeking a Senior Director, Security Operations & Incident Response which serves as the executive leader responsible for protecting the organization from cybersecurity threats through proactive monitoring, rapid incident response, and strategic operational oversight. This role oversees the full spectrum of security operations including the Security Operations Center (SOC), Incident Response (IR), Network Security Monitoring, and Threat Intel ensuring high resilience, exceptional situational awareness, and seamless coordination across global environments.This leader will direct high-performing technical teams, manage major security events, and drive operational excellence through mature processes, modern tooling, and strong cross-functional partnerships. Success in this role requires deep expertise in security operations, incident response, threat detection, and network reliability, as well as the ability to communicate risk and strategy to executive leadership.The position reflects senior-level expectations commonly found in enterprise security leadership roles, including managing global operations, overseeing multi-disciplinary teams, and coordinating with stakeholders during major events.Security Operations LeadershipOversee enterprise-wide security operations activities, including SOC management, threat monitoring, and operational governance.Build, mentor, and lead high-performing security operations teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.Define and execute strategic objectives for global security operations, ensuring alignment with organizational risk posture, SIEM, SaaS monitoring and business priorities.Monitor emerging cyber threats, trends, and vulnerabilities to adjust defensive strategies accordingly.Network Security Monitoring & Operational ExcellenceDefine and drive the strategic vision for Network monitoring to respond to anomalies and alerts of critical security network infrastructure.Oversee day-to-day Network monitoring, ensuring rapid response to security network disruptions, outages (DDOS), or performance degradation events as a result of a security event.Incident Response & Crisis ManagementExecutive lead for major cybersecurity incidents, coordinating response efforts across technical, legal, communications, and executive teams.Develop, refine, and maintain comprehensive incident response plans, playbooks, and escalation procedures.Oversee post-incident reviews to ensure root cause remediation, improve readiness, and strengthen organizational resilience.Manage global crisis response protocols and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure business continuity.Threat Intelligence & EngineeringCyber threat intelligence analysts who gather and analyze external and internal intelligence to anticipate and preempt emerging risks.Security engineering professionals who build and maintain the tools, detection logic, and platforms that enable SOC and IR workflows.What We're Looking For:Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, engineering, or a related field.12+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity with significant leadership in security operations, incident response, SOC management, or intelligence.5+ years in senior leadership or director-level role managing complex, multidisciplinary teams.Deep technical knowledge of security operations, IAM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools.Demonstrated experience coordinating major security events and crisis response.Familiarity with industry frameworks (NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001, etc.).Oversee MSSP services as needed to fulfill obligations and responsibilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience operating in global or large-enterprise environments with distributed teams.Background in cyber threat intelligence, military, law enforcement, or special operations is advantageous.Nice to have Key CompetenciesStrategic leadership and decision-making.Crisis and incident response command presence.Strong communication and executive reporting.Operational mindset with technical depth.Ability to guide teams through high-pressure scenarios.BenefitsWe take care of you, so you can take care of business.
