We’re growing, and we’re looking for an Event Operations Manager to join our high-energy, people-first team.Does this sound like you?The Event Operations Manager plays a critical role in the successful execution of multiple conferences and exhibitions each year. This position requires a highly organized, financially disciplined, and solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. As the operational backbone of each event you will ensure seamless onsite execution from planning through post-event reconciliation.This is a hands-on, high-ownership role that blends project management, financial oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, confidence in vendor negotiation and contract management, and the ability to anticipate challenges before they arise. You are calm under pressure, proactive in driving efficiencies, and committed to delivering exceptional experiences for exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees alike.How you'll make an impact:Coordinate all logistics before and after each event, including travel arrangements and handling special requests.Maintain comprehensive event databases, including attendee information, event details, room assignments, and budget records.Liaise with hotels, A/V providers, pipe and drape vendors, entertainment, and other suppliers to manage logistics and ensure timely final payments for a smooth event experience.Monitor event metrics and proactively flag significant changes; collaborate with venues and vendors to adjust plans as needed.Travel frequently (8–10 times per year) to oversee and manage on-site event operations.Deliver daily, concierge-level customer service to attendees and partners.Review and analyze incoming invoices to resolve discrepancies and compile detailed post-event reports.The skills & experience you'll need:Holds a four-year degree and brings formal experience in both event planning and project management.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to work seamlessly on Mac OS X, web-based databases, and Google Workspace applications.Exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, and methodical in approach.Possesses advanced interpersonal communication skills, along with excellent business writing and proofreading abilities.Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, flexibility, sound judgment, and discretion.Thrives under pressure, consistently meets tight deadlines, and adapts well to shifting priorities and timelines.Is positive and professional.Willing and able to travel frequently (8–10 times per year), which may include some Saturdays and Sundays.Primarily a standard Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm role, with flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends during events.Applicants must be based locally to the Washington, DC metro area as this role entails occasional in-office attendance.What’s in it for me?Consero’s events would not exist without its people.
