Senior Billing Specialist
Sterling Search Partners is helping a Birmingham client with its search for a Senior Billing Clerk. The Senior Billing Clerk is responsible for overseeing billing operations, ensuring accurate invoicing, and supporting financial processes. This role serves as a key point of contact for billing issues, handles complex accounts, and may mentor junior billing staff.Key ResponsibilitiesGenerate and review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client contractsManage high-volume billing cycles and ensure timely delivery of invoicesResolve billing discrepancies, client inquiries, and payment issuesReconcile billing data with internal systems (CRM, payroll, or accounting platforms)Monitor accounts receivable aging and assist with collections as neededCollaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure correct billing termsMaintain accurate records of billing transactions and documentationIdentify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errorsAssist with audits and reporting requirementsTrain and support junior billing clerks or administrative staffQualifications3–7+ years of billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable experienceStrong understanding of billing systems and accounting principlesExperience with ERP or accounting software Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)High attention to detail and accuracyStrong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
