Safety and Security Manager - Prometheus Energetics

Job DescriptionPrometheus Energetics LLC is currently seeking a Safety and Security Manager to lead and manage all aspects of site safety, industrial security, and regulatory compliance. Prometheus Energetics is a new US-based joint venture and will be a merchant supplier of solid rocket motors, energetics, and other adjacent product areas for the US and international defense markets.This position oversees and directs the safety and security functional areas of the company through multiple levels of management and contractors. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all OSHA, DoD, and ATF safety standards for energetic and explosive materials, while also serving as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) for classified programs and facilities. The individual will play a key role in creating and enforcing policies and procedures that protect people, products, facilities, and information.Responsibilities:Safety ManagementDevelop, implement, and oversee safety policies, procedures, and training programs both for general industrial safety as well as specific to handling energetic and explosive materialsEnsure compliance with OSHA, ATF, DoD, and NFPA safety standardsLead hazard identification, risk assessments, and mitigation plans across manufacturing and test operationsOversee incident investigations and corrective actions for all safety-related eventsConduct and manage safety audits, inspections, and drills, including explosive safety site plansSecurity Management & FSO DutiesServe as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with responsibility for compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM)Manage personnel security clearances, visit authorizations, and classified information safeguardingDevelop and enforce physical security measures for secure facilities, including access controls, alarms, and monitoring systemsAct as liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), DoD customers, and government security officialsOversee insider threat programs and classified document/material controlsLeadership & ComplianceEstablish and maintain a culture of safety and security throughout the companyLead safety and security training programs for employees, contractors, and visitorsDetermine needed resources for safety and security operations and secure through annual budgeting and capital planningSupport customer, regulatory, and government audits, inspections, and certificationsServe as a key interface with executives, regulators, and customers on safety/security mattersReports to the Chief Operating OfficerExperience And SkillsQualifications:Demonstrated expertise with OSHA, ATF, DoD, and NFPA standards related to energetics and explosives safetyExperience managing safety programs for hazardous manufacturing facilitiesExperience with energetic and explosive material safety programs in a manufacturing or test environment highly desiredProven experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO), with working knowledge of NISPOM, DCSA, and classified facility requirementsStrong knowledge of industrial security, physical security systems, and insider threat programsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief executives and government agenciesStrong leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain a safety-first cultureAbility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearanceMust be a US Citizen due to the nature of the workEducation and Experience:BS from an accredited institution in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Security Management, or related fieldAdvanced degree or professional certifications (CSP, ASP, FSO Program Management certification, etc.) highly desired10+ years of safety and/or security leadership experience in the defense, aerospace, or energetics industryWork Environment:Office, factory, and explosive test facility environmentsAbility to stand and sit for long periods of timeAbility to work in hazardous material and classified environments with appropriate PPEAbility to lift up to 25 poundsLocation: Bloomfield, Indiana areaTravel Required: Occasional, including international, as requiredJob BenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance CoverageLife/ADD & Short/Long Term Disability Insurance401(k) Savings PlanEmployee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Paid Time-Off (PTO)HolidaysEducation Reimbursement Kratos Defense is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer.
