Senior Technology Controls Consultant (10 openings)Soho Square Solutions | Contract | NYC / Charlotte / RemoteWe need 2-3 senior controls people for a rewrite and rationalization effort at a top-4 US bank. You'll own 80 technology controls under an ops risk assessable unit, decide what gets rewritten and what gets retired, and present your recommendations to MD-level stakeholders, second line, and regulators. This sits under a Managing Director who owns incident, problem, change, and observability controls for all of technology.What you'll do:Assess 80 existing technology controls holistically. Rewrite control narratives where they're outdated or unclear. Build the case for which controls should be retired. There are too many, and leadership wants fewer. Present to second line of defense, internal audit, and regulatory examiners. Mentor junior analysts on the engagement.What you bring:10-15 years in technology controls, IT risk, or operational riskDeep ITGC experience across incident, problem, change, and observabilityProven ability to simplify a control environment, not just document oneHands-on control narrative writing and rationalizationTrack record supporting OCC/Fed regulatory exams and second line challengesStakeholder management at MD and SVP levelPreferred:Led a controls rewrite or retirement effort at a major bankBig 4 technology risk advisory or consulting backgroundCRISC or CISA with implementation experienceFamiliarity with continuous control monitoring and AI-driven approachesUnderstanding of observability platforms (Splunk, AppDynamics, Big Panda)The right person walks in understanding that 80 controls is too many, and the job is to make that number smaller without increasing risk..
