Position: Databricks Architect / Architecture & Engineering Specialist Location: Evanston, ILDuration: Contract to hireEnd Client: This role is with a brand Pharma companyW2/1099 ONLYJob Summary:Required experience6–7+ years of strong hands-on Databricks experienceApproximately 3+ years working in a Data Architect / technical architecture capacityMust remain hands-on technically — this is not a high-level architecture/management roleExperience designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud data platformsPharma/life sciences experience strongly preferredConsulting/client-facing experience preferredTechnical requirementsDeep hands-on DatabricksPySpark / SparkAWS cloud data environmentData ingestion, transformation, orchestration and automationEnd-to-end data architecture and pipeline designProduction-grade data platform experienceDBT exposure/experienceSnowflake experience is a plusAbility to establish architecture/design standards and conduct technical/design reviewsAbility to guide data engineers while still contributing hands-on Client-facing / culture requirementsExcellent communication skills — this is a major requirementStrong customer-service/client mindsetPositive attitudeExcellent listener; does not interrupt or talk over othersAble to read the room and adjust communication appropriatelyAble to communicate technical concepts so both technical and business stakeholders understandComfortable operating as a trusted technical advisor with leadership
