Equipment Maintenance Technician II

Position Purpose:As an Equipment Maintenance Technician II, your primary responsibility will be the repair and maintenance of our rental fleet, which includes earth-moving, aerial, landscaping, and material handling equipment. You'll handle everything from general repairs to complex troubleshooting of hydraulic and electrical systems as well as diesel engines. Key Responsibilities:10% Administrative Work: Document all work performed using tablet technology, including completion of work orders to capture parts usage and labor, and conducting parts inventory counts. 40% Advanced Troubleshooting and Repairs: Engage in advanced troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines; work on small engines' fuel, oil, and air filtration systems; conduct maintenance on trailers; and perform welding repairs as necessary. 30% Inspections and Audits: Conduct aerial lift inspections according to checklist requirements; document work performed and maintain logs using tablet technology; check GPS units on equipment for proper activation and troubleshoot with IT when necessary. 20% Safety: Adhere to safety protocols in the shop, ensuring proper storage of supplies and fuel, and responsible disposal of oils and fluids; operate a forklift safely to manage equipment and materials. Direct Manager/Direct Reports:This position reports directly to the Regional Rental Manager. This position holds no direct reports. Travel Requirements:Typical overnight travel is less than 10%. Physical Requirements:Ability to continuously stand or walk; regularly lift and carry materials or equipment weighing 8-20 pounds. Working Conditions:Primarily indoors in a comfortable environment but may encounter mild discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature fluctuations, loud noise, and strong drafts. Minimum Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have legal permission to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications:Ability to collaborate and work effectively within cross-functional teams. Skill in conveying complex technical ideas in an easily understandable manner for diverse audiences. Experience in handling complaints and resolving disputes with both internal and external customers. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Minimum Education:Completion of a high school diploma or GED is typical. Preferred Education:No additional education required. Minimum Years of Work Experience:3 years.
