Managing Attorney
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Your principal duties will be to: Provide quality customer service and communication with insured(s), TPA and carrier.Directly handle construction claims of high-level complexity and legal matters assigned to you by the Managing Attorney.Proactively investigate each claim with expedited and appropriate contact with relevant parties to determine potential exposure.Identify, select, and direct appropriate internal and/or external resources for specific activities required to effectively evaluate claims, such as appraisers, counsel, and experts.Verify the nature and extent of exposure by obtaining and reviewing appropriate records and damages documentation.Appear for and attend site inspections, hearings, depositions, mediations and trials on Construction Defect cases. Provide counseling and legal services to general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and developers involving complex defect claims. Perform legal research and provide analysis of case law on Complex Construction Defect Cases. Communicate in a highly effective manner with colleagues, clients, adjusters, expert witnesses, mediators and opposing counsel. Manage and supervise responses to discovery requests and handling of document production. Draft and review vital pleadings and motions, respond to discoveries and drive motion practice.Collect, organize and manage extensive project documentation, including contacts, blueprints and reports. Conduct Client interviews identifying their scope of work on the project(s). Coordinate with building experts on inspections and scope of work. Maintain and document claim file activities in accordance with established guidelines.Utilize diary management system to ensure all claims are handled timely. At required time intervals, evaluate damages exposure.Promptly negotiate proper disposition of claims with applicable parties.Update appropriate parties as needed, providing new facts as they become available, and their impact upon the file’s exposure and resolution options.Appropriately handle information that is considered personal and confidential.Always operate within the specified authority.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Florida Licensed4-8+ years of construction defect litigation experience
