Our starting hourly wage is $24.97/Hr., plus we offer a $1/Hr. night shift differential, opportunities to grow your pay with tenure, and a complete benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, 401K, holiday/birthday pay, paid time off, and much more!Schedule:2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 4:00pm- 12:00am (midnight)Areas of AccountabilityAll areas of accountability to be delivered with GRIT - our values of Generosity, Relationships, Integrity, and TeamworkOperate Production Equipment Load and Unload Materials Sanitation & Quality ComplianceEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate production equipment to transform raw materials into a quality frozen pet food ingredientUtilize overhead cranes to palletize frozen ingredient blocks and store them in freezerContinuously inspect raw and finished materials using FOSS machines, and visual and olfactory senses to ensure product qualityOperate skid-steers or forklifts to move large materials and equipmentAccurately record data and complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner; determine and report inconsistenciesClean, foam, use pressure hoses, and sanitize work area, equipment, tools, and totesSqueegee excess water from the production floor and shovel waste materials into garbagePerform minor preventative maintenance duties including switching out hydraulic lines, grinder blades, etc.; report major repair needs to maintenance and/or Complex ManagerLearn and follow all standard operating procedures for processing, sanitation, safety, and qualityFollow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiativesComply with all regulatory compliance requirements including environmental and food safetyReport any concerns, accidents, downtime, or cost-saving measures to Complex Manager, as neededMaintain positive relationships with others and assist other production or maintenance personnel, as necessaryPerform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work environment, as neededMaintain regular and predictable on-site attendanceSituations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.QualificationsProficient in basic math skills; accurately and legibly record informationExperience in food/feed production, a plusPreventative maintenance and repair skills, desiredExperience in backing up trailers or operating a skid steer and forklift, preferredAccurately read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, and operator manualsAbility to maintain composed and organized in a fast-paced environmentWork in a facility that processes poultry; facility may also process pork, if necessaryWillingness and ability to work extra hours as needed during the week or weekendMust be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposesPhysical RequirementsConsistently lift up to 50 pounds from waist level to/from floor; occasionally lift up to 75 poundsConsistently push and/or pull heavy objectsConsistently bend at the waist and/or kneesStand up to 100% of the workdayAbility to work safely in wet/slippery conditions and hot/cold environments
