Job Description Job OverviewDeliver outpatient medical services to Veterans, primarily male, within a primary care environment. Conditions treated include, but are not limited to, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and mental health issues, with a strong emphasis on preventive care.Guide the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model in providing healthcare, which focuses on a collaborative approach to patient care.Record all medical data in an electronic health record system.Conduct medication reconciliation to ensure accuracy in patient prescriptions.Ensure the effective provision of outpatient services while adhering to and surpassing compliance standards.Maintain up-to-date clinical privileges, licensure, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and any other relevant certifications.Collaborate and engage in medical responsibilities related to quality assurance and peer review, as well as performance improvement initiatives under the guidance of the Chief of Medical Service.Perform any additional tasks as assigned.Incentives and BenefitsRecruitment Incentive: Sign-on bonus available.Education Debt Reduction Program: This role qualifies for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which offers reimbursement for student loan payments. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria as per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of starting. Approval, award amounts (up to $200,000), and eligibility periods (one to five years) will be determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after reviewing the application. Previous EDRP participants are not eligible to apply.Compensation: Competitive salary with annual performance bonuses and regular salary increases.Paid Time Off: Enjoy 50-55 days of paid leave annually, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for continuing medical education (CME).Retirement Benefits: Access to a traditional federal pension (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401K plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options (many of which can be continued into retirement).Licensure: Must hold one full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.CME Reimbursement: Eligible for up to $1,000 per year for continuing medical education (must be full-time with board certification).Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection provided at no cost, including tail coverage.Contractual Terms: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on additional employment opportunities.Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.Performance Pay: Potential for up to $15,000 annually.Contract Buy-Out Program: This position may qualify for the Physician/Provider Contract Buy-Out Program (CBOP), which allows for the buy-out of service contracts (including locum agreements, loan repayments, and sign-on bonuses) in exchange for employment at designated rural or highly rural facilities for a minimum of four years.
