The North Market Team within the Commercial Energy practice works with utility clients across the energy value chain to guide them through the energy transition.We Assist Our Clients Tosupport the strategy, design, and evaluation of business operations and customer-focused programs – meter to cash, energy efficiency, heat electrification, demand response, energy storage, electric transportation, distributed solar, among others.support the development and implementation of business transformation initiatives modernize operations across their business, energy networks and distribution and transmission investments.provide governance, reporting, monitoring and transparency through establishing project management, data analysis and visualization practicesdevelop and implement their decarbonization and resiliency plans.What You Will DoAs an Associate Director on the North Energy Providers team within the Guidehouse Communities, Energy & Infrastructure (CE&I) segment, you will have responsibility for development of project results and client management on large engagements. You will own the delivery of projects and significant project workstreams and interact regularly with the clients to ensure engagement success. This includes supporting/leading day-to-day internal team meetings and coordinating/facilitating meetings with clients and their stakeholders. You will be expected to prepare and communicate well-organized, effective reports and presentations to clients. You will lead proposal efforts for clients and be expected to contribute to the growth of our existing portfolio. You will lead, coach, and mentor others on the team to ensure quality analysis and deliverables. We are looking for someone with a passion for creative problem solving, client service, and project management.Key Responsibilities IncludeManaging teams responsible to provide detailed, research, and analysis on energy-related activities and business operations (particularly energy efficiency, grid modernization, renewable energy, customer programs, new business models, marketing and communications, customer research, reliability/resiliency)Maintaining, and strengthening existing client relationships and workstreamsDeveloping and presenting findings and recommended plans of action directly to clientsPerforming, advising, and reviewing technical and business design, testing, analyses and other work products of the project teamDepending on projects, you will assess emerging industry trends, manage building business process designs and data mapping, manage data collection activities, or develop and assess strategies for utility programs aimed at increasing customer engagement, improving business operations, or enhancing customer experienceLeading the facilitation of workshops and working sessions between client departments and third-party organizations; review and approve meeting content, drive discussion towards consensusProviding detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on energy-related activitiesCommunicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentationsContributing to sales of new workDeveloping and managing a portfolio of project budgets and resource plansWhat You Will NeedDue to nature of client engagements, US Citizenship restrictions may applyBachelor’s degree in an engineering, design, business, economics, environmental, science and/or related discipline7-10 years of relevant industry or consulting experience excluding internships, co-ops, fellowships and academic researchDemonstrated experience leading teamsOutstanding analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency with data analyticsAbility to assume ownership of significant portions of tasks while collaborating with a close-knit teamStrong interest in customer experience, business process design, and data visualizationAn inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvementSuperior interpersonal skillsAbility to collaborate as a part of team, as well as to work independentlyAbility to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines.Strong organizational and management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills particularly in communicating across business and technical teamsAbility to travel as neededMust currently reside in the USAThis hybrid position role may require up to 3-5 days on-site at the Client's office in Melville, NYWhat Would Be Nice To HaveMaster’s degree in an engineering, design, data, graphics, business, economics, environmental, science and/or related disciplineAdvanced level proficiency experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPointExperience with agile scrum and associated tools (Jira)Experience with customer personas and journey mappingKnowledge and experience in industry topics such as: energy efficiency, electric transportation, renewable energy, electric transmission and distribution infrastructure, natural gas systems, wholesale markets, meter to cash, customer billing, marketing and communications, customer researchUnderstanding of business, project, and program management fundamentalsAttention to detail in all prior experience (academic and professional)Experience developing and delivering presentations to executive audiencesExcellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling with dataA history of successful, creative problem-solvingExcitement to explore the underlying cause of the observation/resultThe annual salary range for this position is $149,000.00-$248,000.00.
