Senior Systems Engineer (GMD - IFICS Data Terminal)Employee Owned and Best Places to Work ContractorOnsite in Huntsville, AL | Schedule: 9x80The Systems Engineer will support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) programResponsibilities:Perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, system design, system integration & test, hardware fault analysis, hardware design (mechanical and electrical), hardware interfaces (mechanical and electrical), testing, and hardware to software interface definition as part of the IDT product teamEnsure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraintsPerform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specificationsUtilize DOORS for requirements management activitiesSupport MBSE/Cameo modeling effortsOperate within an Agile development environment using Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentationQualifications:U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal LawActive Secret Clearance requiredBachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 5+ years of experience (Or Masters and 3+ years or PhD and 1+ years)Background in hardware to include experience with hardware to software interfaces, hardware design (mechanical and electrical), hardware interfaces (mechanical and electrical), testing, and hardware faultsExperience performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systemsPrior experience using DOORSFamiliar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as CameoPreferred Qualifications:Prior experience working on Missile Defense programsPrior experience working with MIL-STD-810 and performing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)Prior experience working with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA)Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) per MIL-STD-461 and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) per MIL-STD-464Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with High-Altitude electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) per MIL-STD-188-125-1 and MIL-STD-188-125-2Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) per MIL-HDBK-344Full-Time position with an Employee-Owned company offering a comprehensive benefits package: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, Short-Term and Long-term Disability, and Life Insurance, FSA, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k) Plan with company match, Tuition and Training Reimbursement, and Incentive Compensation.
