Camp Sewataro is seeking a thoughtful, motivated, and growth-oriented individual to join our Community Support Team as our Community Support Inclusion Counselor.This role is ideal for students pursuing careers in education, school counseling, social work, psychology, behavior analysis, or youth development who are looking for direct, hands-on experience supporting children in real-time settings.You will play a vital role in helping campers feel successful, included, and emotionally supported, while also coaching and empowering counselors with practical strategies for behavior management and community building.You will be actively involved in:Supporting campers through challenging momentsPracticing in-the-moment behavior interventionCollaborating with leadership to implement behavior plansCoaching staff on inclusion and group dynamicsDocumenting observations and tracking progressKey ResponsibilitiesSupport campers experiencing emotional or behavioral challengesRespond in-the-moment to help regulate, process, and problem solveConduct camper observations and maintain detailed documentationCollaborate with the Community Support Supervisor and Section SupervisorsHelp counselors build positive, inclusive group culturesProvide tools, games, and strategies that promote safety and belongingAssist with implementing behavior incentive systems and support plansIdeal QualificationsRising senior or current 2026 graduateMajor in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Development, or related fieldInternship, field placement, or prior experience working with youthExperience with special needs, behavioral support, or vulnerable populations strongly preferredStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to stay calm and responsive in fast-paced environmentsInterest in creating inclusive, emotionally safe spaces for childrenCamp experience is a plus but not required.
