Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a team in New Berlin, Wisconsin and provide hands-on support across critical accounting projects and close-cycle activities. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works confidently with large volumes of financial data, and can help maintain accuracy during demanding reporting deadlines. The role will contribute across core accounting functions while partnering on project-based work that requires strong intercompany knowledge and advanced spreadsheet skills.Responsibilities:• Lead key components of the month-end close process, ensuring financial activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining proper support and alignment with general ledger activity.• Perform detailed account and bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items promptly.• Support intercompany accounting tasks related to assigned projects, including analysis, balancing, and documentation.• Work across Sage 50 and Oracle to review transactions, maintain accounting records, and assist with reporting needs.• Analyze high-volume datasets in Excel to identify trends, validate balances, and support accounting decisions.• Assist with project-driven accounting priorities that increase workload across the finance function.• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure close deliverables and financial information are complete and reliable.• Strong experience managing month-end close activities in an accounting environment.• Proficiency in general ledger accounting, including preparation of journal entries and supporting documentation.• Hands-on experience completing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.• Demonstrated knowledge of intercompany accounting and the ability to support related project work.• Practical experience using Sage 50 and Oracle in day-to-day accounting operations.• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large, detailed datasets.• Background in larger company environments with exposure to tight reporting timelines and structured close processes.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
