You’ll be joining a team that values clarity, ownership, and shared responsibility—and is focused on building something that genuinely improves how teams work.The RoleThis is a Full Stack Engineer role for a strong generalist who thrives on building things to spec and solving difficult implementation problems. While you'll work across the stack, you'll spend the majority of your time on backend services, database design, and infrastructure — building the foundation that powers the platform. You will take product requirements and turn them into polished, production-ready features, working closely with engineering leadership, product, and customer-facing teams.What You'll DoBuild features end-to-end from spec – Take detailed product requirements and deliver complete, tested implementations across frontend and backendDesign and maintain database schemas – Write migrations, optimize query performance, and ensure data integrity at scaleBuild and improve backend services – Develop APIs, data pipelines, and core platform servicesOwn infrastructure work – CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/alerting, deployment automation, and reliability improvementsSolve complex implementation challenges – Debug thorny integration issues, optimize performance bottlenecks, and architect reliable solutionsTroubleshoot production issues – Diagnose and resolve incidents across the stack with a focus on reliability and uptimeWrite and maintain automated tests – Unit, integration, and e2e to ensure production qualityWho You AreA reliable, execution-focused engineer who takes pride in getting things built rightComfortable working across the full stack but especially strong on the backend — databases, APIs, and infrastructure are where you do your best workDeep comfort with relational databases, indexing strategies, and query optimizationExperience reasoning about system reliability, scaling, and observabilityMethodical and detail-oriented — you follow specs carefully and raise flags early when something doesn't add upA clear communicator who can work effectively with PMs, designers, and customersQuality-driven; your code is tested, reviewed, and production-readyExcited to work in a small team where your contributions are immediately visibleWho You'll Work WithYou will work directly with Blee's engineering and product leadership, collaborating closely with the PM, engineering team, and customer-facing teams.Requirements4+ years of full-stack experience with a backend emphasis (Python/Node.js + React/TypeScript preferred)Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar), containerization (Docker), and IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)Shipped features in a fast-paced startup environmentStrong CS fundamentals: data structures, system design, API design, DB optimizationFamiliarity with observability tooling (Datadog, Sentry, etc.) and production incident responseCI/CD, testing frameworks, and production monitoring experienceBased in SF or NYC & willing to come into the office 3 days a weekNice-to-HaveAdvanced SQL skills — schema design, query optimization, migrations at scaleExperience building a Figma pluginExperience building a Chrome extensionExperience with Adobe UXP/CEP plugin developmentExperience building Office Add-ins (via Office.js)AI/ML integration experience (model serving, prompt engineering, LLM features)Legaltech, adtech, or compliance tooling backgroundHow We WorkWe have offices in New York and San Francisco and value in-person collaboration, but we're open to remote for the right person.
