Sheeter Operator

SUMMARY: A sheeter operator has primary responsibility to operate our focal piece of equipment - the sheeter! Sheeter operators are able to achieve high levels of quality throughput and lead their crews to meet productivity standards. RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in safety initiatives and commit to a safe working environment, free of accidents and harm to employees and the community. Assure the task of "threading in" of paper, getting the wrinkles out, de-curling the sheets, setting the size and square of the sheet, and getting the proper overlap and jog of the finished product. Run a machine that takes rolls of paper and cuts them to a specific size sheet and stacks these sheets on a skid for final cutting to the size and quantity that our customers order. Maintain a clean work environment, following all SOP's. Make recommendations to management to improve productivity and efficiency. Cooperate with managers and supervisors to use process controls and lean principles that improve total operational effectiveness. Support the training program within Case Paper to bolster cooperation and cross-training across the operation. Any other machine operation and process monitoring or data collection that the supervisor may ask. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent 2-3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing operations and/or logistics Previous management or leadership experience is a plus Ability to shift between a variety of tasks as needed - prioritizing workload Problem solving skills and experience collaborating and communicating with others - TEAMWORK!
