Board Member & Marketing Co-Chair
The Marketing Chair provides strategic direction and leadership for Naturally Seattle’s marketing efforts in support of the 2026–2028 Strategic plan. The role is responsible for partnering with its co-chair in setting marketing priorities, stewarding the brand, and enabling volunteers and committees to effectively promote membership, events (including Naturally Rising), sponsors, and the organization’s role in the PNW natural products ecosystem.This is a volunteer, working board role, not a staff position.Naturally Seattle is currently volunteer‑led with limited staff support, and the Marketing Chair focuses on strategy, systems, and coordination, recruiting and empowering volunteers to execute most day‑to‑day marketing activities.Strategic Focus (What This Role Is Accountable For)The Marketing Chair helps ensure that Naturally Seattle:Supports sustainable membership growth by making the value of participation visible and easy to understandBuilds recognition and credibility for Naturally Seattle as a connector and convener within the PNW CPG communityAmplifies flagship programs, including Naturally Rising, through coordinated promotion and storytellingCore Responsibilities:Marketing Leadership & PlanningBrand Stewardship & MessagingChannel Oversight (Enablement, Not Execution)Event & Program PromotionMember & Sponsor VisibilityMeasurement & Board ReportingCross‑Committee CollaborationThe Marketing Chair works through committees, not around them:Programming: aligns on timelines, promotion needs, and recap standardsMembership: supports recruitment and renewal messagingSponsorship/Partnerships: ensures sponsor narratives and benefits are accurately reflectedExecutive Director & Board: aligns on priorities, resourcing, and expectationsTime Commitment & TermTime: ~10–15 hours per month on averagePeaks around Naturally Rising and major eventsTerm: 1 year, renewableCompensation: Volunteer roleContribution: Annual board contribution consistent with all board membersIdeal Candidate ProfileLocated in the Pacific Northwest. Western Washington ideal.5–10+ years of experience in marketing, communications, brand, or community‑driven organizations Comfortable shifting between strategy and light execution guidanceExperience leading or coordinating volunteers, committees, or cross‑functional teamsStrong written communication and messaging instinctsFamiliarity with CPG, natural products, associations, or the PNW business ecosystem
