Not Another Pottery Studio (NAPS) is a vibrant, community-centered ceramics studio in Eagle Rock dedicated to creativity, kindness, and cleanliness. We're looking for a warm, reliable, and hands-on Studio Assistant & Teacher to help support the flow of our classes, assist instructors and members, and maintain a beautiful, functional studio environment. This part-time role is ideal for someone who loves working with people, doesnt mind getting their hands dirty, and thrives in a creative space. Youll be an essential part of the NAPS community, helping us deliver a welcoming and inspiring experience to everyone who walks through our doors. We are looking for someone who is organized, takes pride in accomplishing tasks well, is proactive, is kind, and who is passionate about making ceramics accessible and welcoming to all.The Studio Assistant/Teacher supports the smooth operation of the studio, providing hands-on assistance in studio maintenance, member support, class setups, teaching one-time wheel classes, private instruction, multi-week classses, and other workshops, and general customer service. They ensure a welcoming, organized, and creative studio environment at all times. This role will have wheel-throwing teaching. Studio Maintenance & CleanlinessAssist in daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks to maintain studio cleanliness standards, including floor cleaning, dust management, kiln shelf maintenance, glaze bar cleanliness, and workstation setups.Regularly restock essential studio supplies such as tools, glazes, laundry, cleaning products, and clay, including reclaim duties both manual and with pugmill.Maintain storage of materials, ensuring easy accessibility and effective workspace usage.2. Class Preparation and SupportSet up studio spaces for classes, workshops, and events, ensuring clay, tools, and equipment are ready for participants.Prepare class materials including pre-wedged clay, example projects.Post class piece processing including ticketing, clean up, wax, marking, glazing.Oversee the post-class cleanup, guiding students and ensuring the studio is ready for subsequent sessions.3. Teaching and InstructionTeaching group and private lessons by demonstrating techniques and providing personalized student guidance as required.Lead beginner-level workshops and classes, clearly conveying foundational pottery skills and studio etiquette.4. Inventory AssistanceProactively identify to management low levels of clay, glazes, and other consumable supplies as needed.Support the Studio Operations Manager in organizing deliveries, stocking shelves, and rotating supplies to prevent shortages.5. Member and Customer ServiceProvide excellent customer service by welcoming and assisting members and visitors in the studio.Answer basic inquiries about memberships, classes, workshops, and studio policies.Providing hands-on help, answering student questions, and troubleshooting technical issues.Once trained, assist with studio tours, promoting studio offerings positively.Performance Review Criteria:Performance will be reviewed regularly based on the following criteria:Reliability and timeliness in completing assigned tasks.Quality of studio cleanliness and preparedness before and after classes.Feedback from instructors and studio members regarding support quality.Accuracy and proactivity in studio maintenance tasks.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently or with minimal guidance.Positive contributions to the studio environment and team effectiveness in line with NAPS Core Values recblid x8ahhsp9wsww6bjp5qeq1wqyffgm0q
