School Psychologist Intern

DescriptionBasic Functions:Under the immediate supervision of the school psychologist, the psychologist intern will:Conduct psycho-educational evaluations for special education, including writing reports and attending IEP meetings.Participate in and chair IEP meetingsParticipate in the SST processProvide support with the Student Success Team (SST) process for administration, teachers and support staffConduct systematic behavioral observations of students in a variety of settingsConsult with teachers, administrators, parents, and community resources regarding students in special education as well as regular educationObserve and conduct a functional behavior assessment or other behavior interventionParticipate in a school program, such as the crisis intervention team, develop 504 accommodations, and refer to outside agenciesProvide individual and group counseling and early intervention for students showing signs of having learning difficulties or other difficulties hindering their academic progress, including but not limited to social skills training, anger management, conflict resolution, and peer mediationOther duties as assignedAbility ToCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingMake independent decisionsUtilize various testing techniques, materials, equipment and instrumentsEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with othersQualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:BA/BSCurrent enrollment in a Master's program in School PsychologyUniversity verification regarding Intern eligibilityRequired Documents(*) Letter of Introduction(*) Letter(s) of Recommendation(*) Resume(*) Sample Psychoeducational Report(*) Unofficial transcript from current graduate program(*) TB Test clearance & DOJ finger printing clearance(*) Possess/maintain valid infant, child and Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification
