Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for a travel job in Prestonburg, Kentucky.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Cath Lab TechnologistDiscipline: Allied Health ProfessionalStart Date: 05/18/2026Duration: 13 weeks40 hours per weekShift: 10 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Days, 4x10hrsHours: 40 hrs/wkStart Date: May 18, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a position requiring on-call availability, EP lab rotation, and an active KY or compact license.DetailsWork setting is a hospital-based cardiac cath lab with 2 dedicated cath lab rooms plus rotation in the EP labAdult and geriatric patient population8–10 procedures performed per day, averaging 6–8 STEMI cases per month1:1 patient ratioProcedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases using radial and groin access, device implants (pacemakers and ICDs — single, dual, Bi-V), peripheral diagnostics and interventions, EP ablations, and use of Shockwave, Balloon Pump, Impella, EKOS, Penumbra, and ACIST contrast injectorRotating schedule of 84 hours per two-week period (one week 3x12, one week 4x12), Monday–Friday with one rotating weekday off each weekShifts run 7:00 AM – 5:30 PMOn-call requirement of 8–15 days per month, with one weeknight per week (5:30 PM – 7:00 AM) and one weekend every 3 weeks (Friday 5:30 PM through Sunday 7:00 AM)Must be able to respond within 30 minutes for STEMI alertsFloat required within clinical scope per facility policyRequirementsMinimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience requiredActive AHA BLS and AHA ACLS requiredARRT certification requiredActive KY state license or compact license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable; candidates willing to apply for KY licensure upon offer will be considered, but must apply the day they acceptMust reside 75+ miles from the facility — no local candidates will be consideredA valid driver's license with an address matching your permanent address is required2 professional references required: 1 charge nurse or higher and 1 supervisor reference, both completed within the last yearEP experience preferredAdditional InformationResponsibilities include table panning, scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases, device implant assistance, and circulating EP procedures; cross-training in EP ablations is available for those without prior EP experienceCall team consists of 2 RNs and 1 Radiological TechnologistScrubs and lead apron are providedOrientation is held bi-weeklyUp to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be declared upfront and no changes will be accepted after submissionTravelers must work at least one major or minor holiday during the contractTravelers who have worked within the system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to returnCOVID-19 vaccination is required; medical and religious exemptions are availableAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-707216.
