General SummaryWho We AreThe Colorado Local Technical Assistance Program (Colorado LTAP) is a grant program that provides training and technical assistance to local transportation departments across the state. It helps local transportation agencies learn about constructing, maintaining and improving their roads and bridges, innovative methods and materials and ways to work smarter.Colorado LTAP is a three-way partnerships between the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), and Front Range Community College (FRCC), who administers the program. Colorado LTAP is a nationally renowned member of a network of 51 centers across the US and in Puerto Rico.To learn more about this program, visit the Colorado Local Technical Assistance Program website.Who You AreDo you have a flexible work schedule?Do you work second shift or weekend shift?Are you a consultant, vendor or retired and have the time and interest in training the next generation?Are you able to take 1-2 weeks of vacation from your present job to earn a lucrative wage conducting trainings?If so, we are seeking seasoned/experience individuals interested in conducting training at local transportation agencies in one or more of the following manufacturing skill areas:DrainageRoadway Safety and Work Zone Traffic ControlSafety on the JobSigning, Pavement Markings and MUTCDAsphalt and ConcreteAsset ManagementBridgesConstructionEquipmentGeoscience (vegetation, erosion, soils and gravels)Roads MaintenanceWinter OperationsHeavy Equipment OperationsAs an instructor for Colorado LTAP, you will be contracted to provide training across the state to provide knowledge, skills and resources to the Colorado LTAP community through consultation, scheduled classes and training programs. You will work with the Director of Colorado LTAP and perform the job duties with little supervision while working with a highly collaborative team.In this position, the approximate time commitment is 4-8 days of training per topic area per year depending on need, availability and subject matter experience. Colorado LTAP primarily conducts trainings March to May and September to November with additional training sessions as needed or requested.Colorado LTAP Instructors deliver training at different times, locations, and modalities (in-person, virtually and on-demand) across the state.In-Person: synchronous (or real-time), interactive, instructor-led classes taught in-person.Virtual: synchronous (or real-time), interactive, instructor-led classes taught through video conference.On-Demand: asynchronous (or self-paced) classes delivered over the Internet.For in-person trainings, when offered beyond FRCC's three campuses, the program partners with local organizations to conduct onsite trainings. Instructors are reimbursed for travel/mileage.SALARY:$600 - $1,000 per full-day course depending on experience and course complexity.BENEFITS:This is a contract position and does not offer any benefits.SELECTION PROCESS: This is an open talent pool with a strong need for Fall instruction beginning in September.
