Managing Director for Card Acquisitions Risk StrategyAs the Managing Director for Card Acquisitions Risk Strategy you will be responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing the newly created 1st line credit function across credit segments within the Card Credit Decisioning Unit (CDU). You will report to the Senior Credit Strategy Officer for Card and Connected Commerce who leads the Card CDU.You will play a key role in managing the risk appetite for the Card business. You will directly engage with Card Presidents and product General Managers (GMs) to proactively identify trends, remediate risks, ensure continued health of the business, and pursue business growth. Additionally, you will develop risk management strategies in partnership with the Credit Risk organization in the second line of defense which includes underwriting policies and management of risk-taking activities. This role requires deep analytical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and collaboration with internal teams to balance risk and growth.Job Responsibilities:Define the Credit Box in partnership with Card Presidents, Product GM's, Finance and the second line of defense Credit Risk teamPartner closely with product and risk teams in assessing new credit opportunities. Define an execution plan for new credit opportunitiesSet up reviews and processes to ensure we are executing well on our credit box assumptionsPartner with risk strategies in defining variables that would be included in new credit models and interface with the modeling team on the acquisitions modeling suite and roadmapRecruit and develop high performing talent to staff the CDUDevelop and implement metrics to track acquisitions performance. Lead the report outs for performance monitoring to senior leadershipContribute to Policy & Strategy Development including helping to shape credit policies, underwriting standards, and risk management frameworksMaintain a strong regulatory and controls environmentCollaborate across stakeholders in business lines (e.g., risk, underwriting, legal, finance) to balance growth and riskRequired qualifications, skills and capabilities:A Bachelor's Degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required15+ years of relevant experience in direct to consumer lending, originations, and/or retail credit experience at a complex large-scale financial services businessAbility to evaluate and manage credit risk effectively; Strong judgement in approving or recommending credit transactionsExceptional quantitative and qualitative finance and analytical skillsDemonstrated strategic thinking and execution skills; insight and ability to proactively identify opportunities to innovate and improve the businessExceptional people leadership, relationship development and negotiating skills; ability to earn respect and trust among internal and external business partners and team membersProven experience in collaborating across teams and lines of business within large organizationsStrong proficiency with executive-level presentation materials and briefings, and the ability to simplify complex subject matter into digestible executive communicationsA high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadershipExcellent analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and anecdotal feedback to structure complex problems and make decisionsDemonstrated career of successful program implementationsAbout UsChase is a leading financial services firm, helping nearly half of America's households and small businesses achieve their financial goals through a broad range of financial products.
