Job Summary Quad Packaging is seeking a Lead Sheetfed Operator to work on our 8‐hour night shift in Franklin, WI. This role offers an hourly rate of $25‐$35 based on experience and skills. Quad Packaging operates a state‐of‐the‐art facility that serves a diverse range of clients through sheetfed offset, narrow‐web flexo, and advanced quality control systems. Shift Information You will work 9pm – 5am, Sunday–Thursday. Essential Functions of this position Prepare for operation – access job tickets, set up the offset press machine for the correct substrate, ink, and plate specifications, and communicate job information to support staff. Operate sheetfed press – work within company safety standards to finish printed products according to customer specifications while monitoring raw material supply levels. Perform quality checks – complete the quality checklist, conduct visual inspections throughout the printing process, and ensure customer satisfaction. Perform maintenance – observe machine operations, perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting, and keep an ongoing list of maintenance issues. Perform line clearance – clean the assigned area by removing products, trash, boxes, and other supplies after a job is completed. Troubleshoot and maintain proper ink and water balances. Check and set rollers, change if necessary, and monitor ink densities. Attend all operators' meetings and work with urgency when the press is down. Continue learning new processes to improve production. Responsible for training and developing other pressroom personnel. Assist supervisors with documenting, improving procedures, providing feedback for employee evaluations, and facilitating teamwork. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum 3years of Lead Sheetfed Operator experience (packaging/printing preferred). Experience with Heidelberg XL 106 6‐color or K&B Rapida 106 7‐color (other makes considered). Understanding of color; must pass a color test. Strong mechanical skills and aptitude. Ability to lift 10–15pounds continuously, and to lift 50pounds occasionally; stand long hours (12‐hour shift) and use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement. Ability to work 8‐hour shifts, with overtime and holidays as required (OT paid over 40hrs per week). Must be able to work a night shift and maintain production requirements.
