Director of Clinical Education

Role Overview Provide strategic leadership for clinical education and professional development initiatives across the organization. This role drives high-impact educational programs to enhance clinical documentation, coding accuracy, and overall healthcare delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead creation and maintenance of comprehensive education and training programs, including onboarding for physicians, clinical documentation specialists, and coding analysts. Develop and deliver internal and external curricula, workshops, and training sessions focused on CDI best practices, coding compliance, medical necessity, and regulatory standards. Oversee multiple training delivery methods (in-person, virtual, blended) ensuring effective knowledge transfer. Conduct quality assurance reviews, performance assessments, and monitor program effectiveness to identify gaps and implement improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align educational efforts with organizational priorities and service line goals. Stay current with industry trends, regulatory updates (CMS guidelines, ICD-10), and evidence-based practices. Partner with stakeholders to track metrics such as query rates, DRG accuracy, and documentation quality scores. Support client education and provide thought leadership via industry events, reports, and feedback. Contribute to expansion of new consulting services and support existing programs such as DRG Assurance. Requirements Advanced clinical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent). Minimum 5 years of clinical experience. Preferred credentials: CCS, CCDS, CRCR, CDIP, HCQM. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Home office setup: quiet and secure space, high-speed internet, computer, telephone, printer/fax/scanner.
