Product Compliance Engineering Specialist II
The Product Compliance Engineering Specialist II provides regulatory compliance support to engineering development projects, existing product changes throughout the product life cycle and interfaces with cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, service, and marketing to assure ongoing product content compliance and distribution control. In addition, this position manages certification processes, prepares documentation, and is the liaison with regulatory bodies and certification agencies.Major ResponsibilitiesDevelops, implements and maintains compliance procedures and systems for applicable product typesDefines and documents compliance requirements for new and existing products, ensuring requirements are accurately captured in Product Requirements Specifications, Bills of Material, compliance procedures, and engineering design and material specificationsCollaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize product compliance status throughout the product life cycleMaintains oversight of related regulatory landscape for newly developing and/or revised standards Engages with appropriate industry and regulatory organizations/associations representing Generac Power Systems Prepares and submits documentation for certification applications and renewalsLiaises with regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and testing laboratories to secure and maintain product certificationsMaintains certification schedules, reports, and recordsSupports internal and external audits related to product compliance and certificationActs as a resource, mentor and subject matter expert to more junior team membersMinimum Job RequirementsEducationBachelor of Science degree or related disciplineWork Experience2 years of relevant work experienceExperience in new product design and development and product lifecycle change control Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesAbility to conduct analysis of existing and development regulations and standardsDemonstrated written communication and presentation skills Ability to translate technical information to all audiences Applies regulatory knowledge and experience to improve products, services and processesAbility to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy on multiple projects Preferred Job RequirementsWork ExperienceProduct Regulatory Compliance experience with US, Canadian, and Global regulationsExperience with consumer product compliancePhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
