We serve luxury residential clients across the Front Range—from Monument, throughout the Denver Metro, to Fort Collins, Boulder, and the foothills—as well as mountain communities including Summit County and Grand County. While CTL has long been trusted for architectural lighting, electrical, and integrated systems, we are intentionally expanding our decorative lighting and shading practice—including the development of a new boutique lighting and shading studio in the Castle Rock area. This role is a rare opportunity to help shape both a design-focused discipline and a physical showroom experience within a stable, respected company at a high level. Must have decorative lighting experience.The Design OpportunityWe are seeking a Lighting & Shading Design Specialist with a refined aesthetic, strong client presence, and deep knowledge of decorative fixtures and window coverings. This role is ideal for a designer who wants to be more than a specifier—someone who wants to influence design direction, client experience, and the evolution of a boutique lighting studio.You will play a key role in helping define how decorative lighting and shading are presented, sold, and experienced—both in clients’ homes and within CTL’s upcoming Castle Rock location. You will work directly with homeowners, interior designers, architects, and builders, guiding lighting and shading decisions that elevate the architecture and interiors while remaining technically sound and buildable.This is a fully in-person, design-forward role based in Littleton, Colorado, with significant involvement in the Castle Rock location initiative. What You’ll Be DoingLead decorative lighting and shading design consultations for luxury residential projectsCollaborate with interior designers and architects to align fixture and shade selections with overall design intentTranslate aesthetic vision into complete specifications, schedules, and budgetsOwn full design, specification, and sales responsibility for decorative lighting and window coveringsGuide clients confidently through style, scale, finish, and placement decisions Help shape, curate, and activate CTL’s new boutique lighting and shading studio in the Castle Rock area Contribute to the curation and evolution of a boutique lighting and shading studio experienceActively participate in business development and outreach, building relationships with interior designers, architects, builders, and potential clientsRepresent CTL as a lighting and shading design resource within the local design communityDevelop long-term referral relationships through trust, design credibility, and responsivenessParticipate in networking events, showroom meetings, and design-industry touchpoints as appropriateCoordinate closely with CTL’s architectural lighting, electrical, and systems teams to ensure seamless executionBuild, maintain, and foster strong relationships with decorative lighting and shading manufacturer representativesServe as a primary point of contact between CTL and key vendor partnersCollaborate with reps on product education, line reviews, pricing strategies, and showroom supportHelp evaluate, onboard, and evolve vendor lines to align with CTL’s luxury, design-forward visionWho This Role Is For3-5+ years of experience in decorative lighting design and client consulting (senior designers and seasoned veterans strongly encouraged)A strong design eye with an understanding of luxury residential environmentsProven experience specifying decorative fixtures and window coverings / shading systems a plus Comfortable working directly with discerning, high-net-worth clientsConfident presenting ideas, guiding decisions, and owning the design narrativeOrganized, detail-oriented, and fluent in translating design into documentationIntellectually curious and open-minded, with a willingness to learn new systems, approaches, and perspectivesEnjoys educating clients, collaborators, and internal teams—and is equally open to learning from othersCollaborative by nature, receptive to ideas, feedback, and evolving design philosophiesSelf-directed and comfortable working independently, with the ability to manage time, priorities, and projects without close supervisionDemonstrates strong personal productivity, follow-through, and accountability in a fast-moving, design-driven environmentEntrepreneurial mindset with excitement around building something meaningfulWhy Designers Choose This RoleOpportunity to help build a lighting & shading design practice, not just support oneCreative influence over showroom experience, vendor lines, and design standardsStable, 40-year-old company with residential and commercial clients and complex projectsAbility to focus on design without sacrificing execution qualityCompensation is competitive and will be aligned with experience.
