Industrial Maintenance Electrician
HiFyve is hiring an Industrial Electrician / Maintenance Electrician in the Manufacturing industry in St. Louis, MO!Pay: $35-45/hrShift: Day shift with occasional weekend or OT and rotating on-call (with on-call pay) about 1 week per monthLocation: St. Louis, MOThis role is responsible for keeping industrial equipment operating at peak performance by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable production while supporting maintenance, upgrades, and continuous improvement efforts.Job ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and equipmentDiagnose issues with motors, VFDs, PLC I/O, sensors, MCCs, and control panelsInstall, repair, and modify wiring, conduit, cable trays, and electrical componentsMaintain and troubleshoot single- and three-phase power systems (120/240/480V)Service motors, starters, relays, contactors, overloads, and MCCsTroubleshoot sensors and devices (photoeyes, prox switches, encoders, etc.)Support PLC troubleshooting (I/O verification and basic logic; no programming required)Set up and maintain VFDs and soft starters (parameters, diagnostics, replacements)Perform preventative and predictive maintenance (thermal checks, inspections, cleaning)Document work orders, root cause analysis, and corrective actions in CMMSCoordinate with operations to schedule downtime and ensure safe equipment startupMaintain clean and organized work areasRespond to emergency repairs and support on-call needsSafety & ComplianceFollow NFPA 70E, NEC, and LOTO safety standardsUse proper PPE and adhere to arc-flash safety proceduresMaintain compliance with all plant safety policies and proceduresQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredElectrical trade school or apprenticeship preferredJourneyman Electrician license (preferred)OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred)3-5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experienceExperience working in manufacturing or production environmentsTechnical SkillsAbility to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logicStrong troubleshooting skills for industrial controls and electrical systemsExperience with multimeters, clamp meters, meggers, and power monitoring toolsWorking knowledge of VFDs, motor controls, and automation systemsUnderstanding of NFPA 70E, LOTO, and safe energized work practicesBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word)Core CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsEffective communication across teams and shiftsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage downtime efficientlyTeam-oriented mindset with a strong work ethicOrganized, detail-oriented, and safety-focusedWork Environment & Physical RequirementsHands-on role on the production floorManufacturing environment with dust, noise, heat, and no A/CWork around energized equipment, moving machinery, and elevated platformsFrequent standing, walking, climbing, and use of toolsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and perform fine motor tasks
