Principal Specialist, ContractsThe Principal Specialist, Contracts is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and maintaining contract documents in compliance with company policies. It serves as a key liaison between internal teams and customers, leading contract strategy, interpreting terms, and ensuring proper flow-down of requirements. The position also supports proposal development, risk identification and mitigation, and program execution, while collaborating across functions to improve processes, ensure compliance, and drive customer satisfaction.
This position will work onsite at our Chula Vista, CA facility.
What You Will Do:
Maintain and organize Contracts artifacts in accordance with Collins' policies and procedures.
Draft, interpret and manage contract documents, including terms & conditions, letter of agreements, amendments, and program letters in support of the Contracts function
Demonstrates strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
Lead coordination with the Program team on contract interpretations & strategies, program purchase order management, and price proposals (various types).
Take a lead role on customer agreements (various contract types) reviewing, red-lines, executive summaries and mid-complexity negotiation of terms and conditions.
Disseminate (flow-down) Customer contractual requirements within the organization.
Support and interface with other department activities as needed including financial sales and cost forecast.
Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and efficient manner. Participate in internal and external customer meetings and reviews.
Liaison role between internal and external customers.
Be a part of the proposal process and communicate risk impacts to the business.
Manage a broad landscape of customers and program situations.
Partner with functional lead(s) to ensure processes are compliant and improved over time to meet business needs.
Adhere to and comply with standard work processes. Create new standard work as applicable.
Identify and elevate contractual risks and assist in mitigation efforts
Travel up to 10%
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum of 5 years' prior relevant experience in an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Project management experience
Experience with MS Office Suite
Qualification We Prefer:
Contracts or Supply Chain experience
International commercial contracts experience
Knowledge of financial concepts such as forecasting, cost analysis, and risk assessment.
Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain complex contract terms to non-legal stakeholders.
Aerospace industry experience

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
