What You’ll DoPerform highly skilled construction tasks such as loading, delivering, excavating, and operating advanced equipment for underground projectsInstall and maintain complex underground telecommunications cable with precision and adherence to project specificationsOperate, troubleshoot, and perform minor maintenance on construction equipment to ensure optimal functionalityAssist supervisors with project plans, material management, and task prioritizationProvide support to small workgroups to meet project goals on time and follow safety standardsComplete and verify detailed production reports to maintain accurate project recordsAssist with site restoration efforts, including final grading and landscaping, to meet client expectationsIdentify and address potential safety and operational issues proactivelyTrain and mentor Level I and II laborers to improve their skills and knowledgePerform other duties as assignedWhat You’ll NeedA valid Class A commercial driver's license and reliable transportation are required.To be 18 years of age or olderAuthorization to work in the United States for this companyHigh School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience3-5 years of experience in underground telecommunications construction or a related fieldAdvanced knowledge of construction equipment operation and maintenanceAbility to interpret blueprints, job plans, and technical specificationsStrong ability to work independently and provide support in team environmentsWillingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as neededAbility to work safely in all weather conditionsEffective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsPhysical Abilities & ExposuresRoutinely: work alone in remote locations and in confined spaces with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 poundsOccasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouseLA CountyJob DutiesPursuant to the LA County Fair Chance Hiring Ordinance all job postings must include a list of all material job duties of the specific job position which the employer reasonably believes that criminal history may have a direct, adverse and negative relationship potentially resulting in the withdrawal of the conditional offer of employment.
