ASSURANCE SUPERVISOR/MANAGER
Responsible for the overall attest engagements. This position reports to the partners. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employees may perform other related duties as required to meet ongoing needs.
Our Vision for this position
We envision our Assurance Manager & Supervisor to not only be a senior assurance technician who can complete an Accounting or Assurance engagement to the level of minimal review & rework by the tax manager/partners, but also someone who can also coordinate & manage assurance engagements (and other returns & engagements as needed in the absence of another Manager). This unique person would need to be super organized and begin documenting our workflows, standardizing our work product and internal processes, bringing consensus among the staff accountants and championing a unified "P&R way" of doing things. He/she would also be responsible for being the "go-to" expert on the various ASSURANCE apps & tools available to streamline our ASSURANCE offerings such as Confirmation.com, Workpaper CS, ProfitCents, CheckPoint Research, etc. This person will not only be training the new staff on our "App Stack" but also identifying clients who could benefit from a more streamlined process (Apps), meeting with and selling those clients on the benefit, on-boarding those clients and then transitioning the ongoing maintenance of those clients to the accounting staff. The ultimate goal would be to become an ASSURANCE resource not only for the internal staff but for our clients as well. The conversion of manual client accounting processes into a standardized, possibly more automated, workflow either supervised or assisted by the firm. Cross Selling/upselling, developing and supervising “CAAS” & “ASSURANCE” engagements under the Thomson Reuters Practice Forward model will be a big part of the job function.
