Interior Designer

Position Type: 1099 Contract Position, RemoteGDS Architecture, Interiors & Branding is seeking a thoughtful, detail-driven, Interior Design Consultant to join our team on a contract basis. We are looking for an experienced individual with a strong foundation in commercial, architectural design to contribute immediately to our dynamic range of projects. This is a remote, independent contractor (1099) position, emphasizing the specialized nature of the work and the independent capacity of the consultant. We require a candidate whose background is rooted in interior design and architecture to ensure a depth of understanding regarding building systems and commercial project requirements.Key Responsibilities:Lead and execute interior design projects from concept through construction documentation, with a strong focus on commercial spaces and high-end residential projects.Develop detailed architectural documents, plans, elevations, and specifications using Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and software like Revit.Collaborate with the architectural team to ensure interior design plans are fully integrated with the overall building design.Manage material and finish selections, furniture specifications, and vendor coordination, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.Contribute to project design development and detailing, ensuring all elements meet GDS's high standards for quality and innovation.Required Qualifications (Must-Haves):We seek to attract highly experienced professionals who are willing to accept a contract wage for specialized expertise.Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.Experience: Prior experience in commercial architecture or high-end residential architecture is a must.Proven background in interior architecture or straight architecture is required to qualify for this role.Proficiency in Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage project deliverables effectively in a remote setting.Strong portfolio showcasing experience in complex, detail-driven commercial and architectural interior projects.
